The school took control of its catering requirements in September 2011. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and have seen a considerable increase in the uptake of school meals. As well as providing the traditional lunch menu, the Caddington Café is also open every day at mid-morning for snacks for Years 3 to 8 at break time.
The School has invested heavily in its catering facilities to ensure we provide a vibrant and modern environment where the pupils can enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere. We have also ensured our catering team are all fully up to date with current health and safety and food hygiene regulations. We have also made a considerable investment in tripling the size of our canteen facilities and also investing in equipment, such as a modern new oven and a drinks fridge.
In order to ensure we provide the best possible service for our pupils our menus are modern, affordable, tasty and School food trust compliant. We have overhauled our menus to create our exciting new themed day menus. We are also working very closely with other schools to ensure our menus are compliant with the Government’s nutrient-based standard.
The new menus are designed to increase choice as well as ensuring pupils know exactly what is expected each day. For example, the pupils will know on a Monday (Taste of Italy) that there will always be a traditionally Italian hot lunch (Spaghetti, Lasagne).
All the produce we use is sourced from local producers and providers.
